VPRA Entertainment wins Special Jury Award for documentary Serengsia 1837

Serengsia 1837, a documentary made by VPRA Entertainment received Special Jury Award at Fourth Chitra Bharti Film Festival 2022 organised by Bharatiya Chitra Sadhna at Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication campus from 25th March to 27th March 2022. The event was inaugurated by reputed filmmaker and director Vivek Agnihotri along with Indian cinema icon Akshay Kumar who focused upon the importance and changes in Indian cinema during his speech. Participants and organisers paid tribute to the Kashmiri Pandit under the concluding portion of Shri Vivek Agnihotri's keynote address. The film festival paid a prominent platform for professionals and beginners to showcase their documentaries and creative works under its banner.


Pragyan Singh, representing VPRA Entertainment, receives the award on the final day of the ceremony. Presenting the Award, Shri Vivek Agnihotri wishes the team the best for the production and upcoming projects. Along with Pragyan Singh, the crew of VPRA Entertainment including Prakash, Vikash Kumar and Kunal Kumar Dey were also marked their presence at the event.



The film is based on the unheard and unfamiliar story of the freedom fighters of the land of Jharkhand, India. As we all know, there are many stories full of valour and courage in history, out of which we recognize some of the heroes very well. But there are many such heroes whose immortal saga got extinct in the womb of time. If we look closely at the pages of history, there are many such heroes who will stand proudly with their heads raised, who will be seen deepening the knowledge of history even more and one such immortal story is that of the tribals of Serengsia Valley settled in Kolhan region of Jharkhand, India. Witnessed her courage, intelligence and valour.
